A new Android application, called Route 66 Maps & Navigation, has integrated virtual reality with GPS technology. This new app simulates your surroundings and adds a 3D car for you to follow with the Follow Me feature. The camera, that is found on which ever device it is you use, records your surroundings and moves through the virtual image of the area as you drive. The virtual car that you are following even signals when you need to turn.
Not only do you have a realistic road map, but similar to TomTom and other GPS units, this device also has voice navigation. The app is available in fifty-seven different languages and has available maps of up to one hundred different countries, all of which feature the virtual real-time image of your drive.
This new device certainly brings a new kind of gamer streak to driving. Virtual reality lovers will jump at the chance to see what their reality would be in a virtual world even while they are in the real one.
