The iPad is a sleek tablet computer/e-reader that fits neatly into anyones shopping list. Even the Australians have taken an interest in these fabulous devices. The Australian airline, Jetstar Airways, has began a pilot program to rent iPads to passengers during the flight. Passengers could rent an iPad during their flight for only ten Australian dollars, which is more than a fair price. This converts the small tv-screen that passengers watch their movies on into a multi-media device that is not only much larger but much more advanced than any other device currently used for media on airlines. Not to mention but it diversifies the options people have for entertainment.
The pilot program for this service was such a hit with passengers that the Australian airline plans on moving forward with the program by utilizing it within their entire fleet of planes. The iPad offers more than just movies. Passengers can play games, do business and chat with online trading broker, read a book, listen to music and all of these options are free and come preloaded on the device. For the cheap price of great entertainment it is no wonder that it is hit. For this airline the rentals will be officially available in April after all of the licensing and terms are agreed upon and finished.
