What is the point of using electronic gadgets and devices in automobile to make driving safer if the driver makes use of another set of electronic gadgets that make driving unsafe? GPS is being used to help with the driver avoid getting lost.
Sensors are used to issue alarms to their driver in the event the vehicle comes too close to some other vehicle. Yet, the primary reason why drivers drive in an unsafe mannerism is not lack of skills but distracted driving caused by electronic gadgets.
Technology is being used to come up with solutions that will help drivers post Facebook updates and send Twitter tweets without taking their eyes of the road. However, the important point that has being missed is why such technology is needed in the first place? Why is it that drivers are not in a position to simply ignore harmful and distracting technology until they have reached their destination?
This lack of control and over reliance on technology to solve problems caused by technology leads to a vicious circle.
